Professional qualification
The coach must hold the professional title, licence or recognised foreign qualification required for the activity and territory in which services are provided. The holder name, credential type, number, covered sport or activity, grade and expiry date must be accurate and kept current. A pending Bastyra review is not a professional licence and Bastyra verification does not replace the competent authority.
Responsibility for training
The coach is the author and professional provider of every workout they prescribe, including exercise selection, loads, percentages, volume, intensity, progression, substitutions and supervision. The coach must work within their qualification and competence and must not delegate professional judgement to Bastyra, an exercise library or automated suggestions.
Screening and safety
Before prescribing, the coach must gather the information reasonably necessary to assess readiness, limitations, training environment and available equipment. The coach must adapt or stop training when safety requires it, maintain an emergency and referral process, and direct the athlete to an appropriate health professional when the matter falls outside the coach’s competence.
No medical representation
Unless separately licensed, the coach must not diagnose, treat disease, present training as medical care or give regulated health advice. Performance outcomes, weight loss, recovery or injury prevention must not be guaranteed.
Athlete rights and safeguarding
The coach must act respectfully, avoid harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, coercion, retaliation and conflicts of interest, and apply additional safeguarding for minors and vulnerable people. Reports and complaints must be handled in good faith without obstructing access to Bastyra or competent authorities.
Data and confidentiality
The coach may only access and use athlete data for the authorised coaching purpose, must keep notes proportionate and accurate, must not share accounts or export data for unrelated purposes, and must comply with privacy notices, lawful-basis and confidentiality duties.
Commercial duties
The coach is responsible for their athlete-facing prices, pre-contract information, invoices, taxes, service delivery, cancellation and refund policy, and any mandatory consumer rights. The coach must not misrepresent that Bastyra employs, certifies or guarantees them.
Insurance and records
The coach must maintain any insurance and professional records required by law or reasonably appropriate to the services offered, and must promptly notify Bastyra if a credential expires, is suspended, restricted or revoked.
Enforcement
Bastyra may request evidence, mark a credential pending or expired, restrict professional functions, suspend a profile or close an account following documented review. Immediate protective action may be taken where necessary to prevent serious harm or comply with law, with a later opportunity to respond where appropriate.
